The Incredable History!

Black Wall Street was a vibrant African American community nestled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, renowned for its economic prosperity and cultural vitality in the early 20th century. Greenwood Avenue, the heart of this district, thrived with black-owned businesses ranging from banks to theaters, symbolizing black excellence and entrepreneurship amidst a racially segregated society. However, its legacy was marred by the tragic events of the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921, which resulted in the destruction of Greenwood and the loss of countless lives. Despite the devastation, Black Wall Street's story endures as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of African Americans, inspiring ongoing efforts for social justice and economic empowerment.

The importance of Black Wall Street resonates today as a poignant reminder of the systemic racial injustices that have shaped American history. Its rise and fall serve as a sobering lesson on the enduring impacts of racism and violence on marginalized communities. Yet, Black Wall Street also symbolizes hope and resilience, fueling movements for reparations, economic empowerment, and racial reconciliation. By commemorating its legacy and striving to address its historical injustices, society can move towards a more equitable future where the spirit of Black Wall Street thrives once again.

  • A Culture Vulture Free Zone

Look, we're all for inclusion and the diverse celebration of Black History. However, it has become increasingly common for NON Black-owned companies to sell Black Culture while also falsely claiming to be Black-owned. This practice of cultural appropriation is not only dishonest but also disrespectful to the Black community. By profiting off of Black culture without actually supporting or empowering Black-owned businesses, these companies perpetuate systemic inequality and contribute to the erasure of Black voices and perspectives. It is important for consumers to do their research and support authentic Black-owned businesses that prioritize social justice, equity, and circulation of the Black dollar; rather than those that simply capitalize on the latest cultural trends.
