The Incredible History!

Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton played pivotal roles in establishing the Black Panther Party (BPP) during the 1960s, aiming to combat systemic injustices against African Americans. Born in Texas and Louisiana in 1936 and 1942 respectively, they co-founded the BPP in Oakland, California, in 1966. Seale, serving as Chairman, shaped the party's ideology around armed self-defense and socialist principles, while Newton, as Minister of Defense, spearheaded initiatives such as the Ten-Point Program and armed patrols targeting police brutality.

Their collaboration propelled the BPP to national prominence, despite encountering government scrutiny and legal battles. Nonetheless, their unwavering commitment to racial equality continued to inspire future generations of activists.

In essence, Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton were visionary leaders whose partnership reshaped the civil rights movement, leaving an enduring legacy of empowerment and social justice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you Black-owned?

Yes. And it's great that you asked! TheBlackest Co. is proudly Black-owned and certified by the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders are produced and ship out in 2–4 business days and take another 4–6 days to arrive (often sooner). Every item is made to order, which takes a little extra time, but ensures quality, reduces waste, and saves water.

How do I know what size?

Measure something you already own and love the fit of, then compare to our size chart on each product page. Our shirts generally run true to size — if you're between sizes or prefer a looser fit, sizing up is usually the way to go.

Can I use discount codes with...?

Good news — a lot of our codes do stack! We have so many running at once that the easiest way to know is to add them at checkout and see what happens. If it works, you'll see it. If not, no worries — the best deal will still always apply!

Is this made to order?

Yup - just like a birthday cake! Every item is made to order, which takes a little extra time, but ensures quality, reduces waste, and saves water.

What's your return policy?

If there's ever a workmanship issue — like a misprint, wrong size sent, or anything defective — we'll make it right, free of charge, ASAP. Email us with clear photos and your order number.

Because each item is made to order, we're not able to accept returns or exchanges for size or color choices...or life's regrets. We don't carry inventory to swap out and we don't resell returns.

  • A Culture Vulture Free Zone

Look, we're all for inclusion and the diverse celebration of Black History. However, it has become increasingly common for NON Black-owned companies to sell Black Culture while also falsely claiming to be Black-owned. This practice of cultural appropriation is not only dishonest but also disrespectful to the Black community. By profiting off of Black culture without actually supporting or empowering Black-owned businesses, these companies perpetuate systemic inequality and contribute to the erasure of Black voices and perspectives. It is important for consumers to do their research and support authentic Black-owned businesses that prioritize social justice, equity, and circulation of the Black dollar; rather than those that simply capitalize on the latest cultural trends.
