The Incredible History!

John Brown was a white abolitionist who believed slavery was a moral evil that had to be destroyed by force if necessary. He led armed resistance against slavery, including the famous 1859 raid on Harpers Ferry, aiming to spark a slave uprising. Though captured and executed, Brown became a symbol of militant resistance to slavery and was praised by figures like Frederick Douglass and W.E.B. Du Bois. His legacy lives on as a reminder that real allies take real risks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you Black-owned?

Yes, and thanks for asking! TheBlackest Co. is proudly Black-owned and ByBlack certified, administered by U.S. Black Chambers.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders print and ship in 2-4 business days, then take 3-8 business days to arrive. Business days are Monday to Friday, not counting holidays. Every item is made to order, which takes a little extra time, but ensures quality, reduces waste, and saves water.

How do I know what size?

Measure something you already own and love the fit of, then compare to our size chart on each product page. Our shirts generally run true to size - if you're between sizes or prefer a looser fit, sizing up is usually the way to go.

Can I use discount codes with...?

Good news - a lot of our codes do stack! We have so many running at once that the easiest way to know is to add them at checkout and see what happens. If it works, you'll see it. If not, no worries - the best deal will still always apply!

Is this made to order?

Yup - just like a birthday cake! Every item is made to order, which takes a little extra time, but ensures quality, reduces waste, and saves water.

What's your return policy?

If your order arrives misprinted, damaged or wrong, we'll replace it free. Contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number, and we'll tell you exactly what we need to get it fixed fast.

Because each item is made to order, we're not able to accept returns or exchanges for size or color choices...or life's regrets. We don't carry inventory to swap out and we don't resell returns.

Wait!? I've seen this design somewhere else!

Probably. Our popular & original designs get stolen constantly, and if you buy it anywhere but our site, hoping to save a few bucks, you're rolling the dice on sketchy bank charges, garbage print quality, cheap threadbare garments, and sellers who may never send the item anyway - they don't even have a real print file, just a screenshot scraped off the internet. We only sell this design here, period. Every other listing is stolen artwork from shady companies cashing in on our hard work, and every dollar spent there is a dollar taken from a small Black-owned business instead of supporting one. Buy Black. Buy original.

  • A Culture Vulture Free Zone

Look, we're all for inclusion and the diverse celebration of Black History. However, it has become increasingly common for NON Black-owned companies to sell Black Culture while also falsely claiming to be Black-owned. This practice of cultural appropriation is not only dishonest but also disrespectful to the Black community. By profiting off of Black culture without actually supporting or empowering Black-owned businesses, these companies perpetuate systemic inequality and contribute to the erasure of Black voices and perspectives. It is important for consumers to do their research and support authentic Black-owned businesses that prioritize social justice, equity, and circulation of the Black dollar; rather than those that simply capitalize on the latest cultural trends.
